Thau Lagoon

An iconic site for an excursion to Sète, the Étang de Thau is impressive. The largest body of water in the region, it is inextricably linked to the history and culture of the city.

A place for oyster and shellfish farming since antiquity, it concentrates, on its 7500 hectares, numerous family farms.

You can stroll around the pond, or enjoy canoe or paddleboard excursions, in places where it is permitted.

Nearby Montpellier

Located just a 20-minute train ride from Sète, the city of Montpellier offers beautiful walks and delightful discoveries. You'll enjoy strolling through the narrow streets of the Écusson district, walking along the Promenade du Peyrou, and finding yourself in the famous Place de la Comédie.
